It’s September, which means it’s back to school season for many kids out there! If you have some youngsters going off to school every day now or are a college or university student yourself and want some quick back to school snack ideas to take for a long day of studying and work- check out our suggested 4 snacks below!
- Fruit and Veg: We all need to reach our 5-a-day and getting a portion or two into your lunchbox for a mid-day snack is such an easy way to reach that goal! With so many options to choose from you can either have a full piece of fruit such as a banana or an orange, or a cute little box with mixed berries, tomatoes or carrots!
- Popcorn: Make sure there isn’t too much salt or added sugar to it, but popcorn can often be a great snack! Especially when it comes in pre-packed, single portion bags, it can help you with any savoury craving you may have around 3 o’clock!
- A high-fibre and protein snack bar: Just like with our 5-a-day of fruit and veg, we all want to get enough dietary fibre and protein throughout the day. Both will fuel you and keep you going for a lot longer than a high sugar snack as Protein and Fibre are rather slowly digested. Looking for a snack that has both? Try out our range of High Protein Bars: Apple Pie, Cacao Orange and Salted Caramel! With >8g of protein and 4.6 to 5.6 grams of fibre per bar it’s the perfect little snack to take on the go!
- Overnight oats: This one takes a bit more effort as there is a bit of prep involved, but overnight oats are super easy to make! Take a tupperware box the night before, add some oats and a milk alternative plus top with berries and your choice of superfood toppings and stick in the fridge! The next morning- pop it into your lunch box and have as a morning snack! Quick-releasing energy from the berries and the slow-releasing energy from the oats is the combo of your dreams!
