Apple, Blueberry & Chocolate Crumble

I think its safe to say that winter is definitely here now. So, in order to lift everyone’s spirits we decided to share with you guys this delicious apple and blueberry crumble! ⁠ ⁠

I don’t know about you guys but an crumble reminds us of winter, and I think its safe to say that winter is definitely here now.

So, in order to lift everyone’s spirits we decided to share with you guys this delicious apple and blueberry crumble! ⁠ ⁠ There is a little secret ingredient to this which makes it just that extra bit more delicious.. can you guess what it is?? ⁠ ⁠

We served our crumble with some vanilla ice cream, but we also loving serving it with vanilla custard! ⁠

There is a little secret ingredient to this which makes it just that extra bit more delicious… CACAO NIBS.

Ingredients

  • 1 punnet of blueberries
  • 2 red apples, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • Splash of water
  • 2 tbsp Creative Nature Cacao Nibs
  • 150g plain flour
  • 100g dairy free spread,
  • 80g sugar

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C
  2. Add the sliced apples and the blueberries into the oven dish. Sprinkle the brown sugar on top and mix well together making sure all the fruit is covered in the sugar.
  3. Sprinkle some cacao nibs over the filling. 
  4. Add a splash of water into the filling to ensure there is lots of moisture while it cooks.
  5. To make the crumble add the dairy free spread and flour into a mixing bowl. Rub the butter into the flour until it starts to look like breadcrumbs. Then stir in the sugar. 
  6. Evenly sprinkle the crumble over the top of the filling and finish off by lightly dusting the top of the crumble with some brown sugar (this will make it really golden and caramelised!) 
  7. Place in the oven for 40-45 minutes. 
  8. Serve with ice cream or custard! ENJOY
