Hot Cross Cornbread Buns

Hot Cross Buns might be one of our favourite snacks ever, and who knew you can make your very own at home with our delicious Cornbread mix!

You can always add more dried fruit or even mix it up and throw in some chocolate chips and don’t forget that generous slather of butter and maybe even jam… oh and the cup of tea of course!

Our Hot Cross Cornbread Buns are free from the top 14 allergens so they are very inclusive and great to bake for a group of people as they are allergy friendly.

  • 1tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cornbread baking mix
  • 1 small apple
  • Handful goji berries, soaked
  • Handful sultanas
  • 50ml vegetable oil
  • 200ml plant milk
  • 80g Apple Sauce

1. Pour the packet mix into a bowl and give a whisk to remove any lumps.

2. Add your milk, oil, and apple sauce to the centre and stir until combined.

3. Toss in your dried fruit and mix. Then pour the mixture into a greased 20cm baking tray and cook at180C for 25 minutes until golden brown.

4. Remove from the oven, and once cooled, cut into approximately 9 pieces and pipe a cross shape over the top with buttercream icing

5. Enjoy warm with butter.
