Lemon Brownies

We thought it was about time we mixed up the flavour of our chocolate brownies and added a little bit of citrus to them… so, we made lemon brownies! ⁠

These probably weren’t the lemon brownies that a lot of you were expecting but instead they are lemon flavoured chocolate brownies with a lemon buttercream on top! ⁠Oh, and of course topped with some HazelNOT Gnawbles.

They are so refreshing and so nourish! It’s safe to say they disappeared off the plate very quickly.

Our lemon brownies recipe is completely dairy free and top 14 allergen free too.

Ingredients

  • Creative Nature Brownie Mix
  • Dairy free spread
  • Flaxseed
  • Water
  • x1 packet of Gnawbles (we used HazelNOT)
  • 3 tbsp Dairy Free Butter
  • 1tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Lemon (juice)
  • 480g Icing Sugar

Method

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C
  2. Pour all the contents of the making mix into a mixing bowl and add the dairy free spread, flaxseed and water. Mix well until you have a smooth mixture 
  3. Place into a greaseproof tin and pour the mixture into it. Place in the oven for 25 – 30 minutes 
  4. While the brownie is cooking, cream the icing sugar and dairy free butter together. Then add the vanilla extract and lemon juice. 
  5. When the brownie is done allow to cool for about 30 minutes
  6. Once cooled, put the lemon butter cream on top and add grate some of the lemon zest over the top
  7. For the finishing touches add Gnawbles on top! (the more the better)
  8. ENJOY!
