Why You Should be Eating More Chocolate – Yes, Really!

Well not quite, those dairy milk bars and chocolate Oreos are soo last year and raw cacao is your new best friend.

This unrefined, rich powder certainly deserves its status of a super food; each spoonful delivers powerful nutrients like magnesium which regulates healthy blood pressure and iron to support red blood cells. In addition to this, raw cacao contains high levels of antioxidants to fight free radicals and give you gorgeous glowing skin alongside providing you with all those minerals that are essential for optimum health.

You know those days when you feel stressed, tired or sad and want nothing but chocolate? Turns out your body knows more than you think! Raw cacao or chocolate in its purest form helps to boost endorphins thus it is actually the perfect positivity fix. First up is these Cacao and spirulina chocolate truffles which are perfect for a bite sized treat, they only require one piece of kitchen equipment and will last in your fridge/freezer for weeks!

Makes 12:

1 cup nuts (almonds, cashews or pecans work best)

2 cups pitted dates

1 tablespoon Creative Nature raw cacao powder

1 teaspoon Creative Nature spirulina powder

1 teaspoon Creative Nature chia seeds

1 tablespoon coconut oil

Directions: Place the nuts on a tray and roast in the oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes. Once cooled for a few minutes place them in a food processor and blend until they form a flour consistency, then add all the remaining ingredients and process to form a sticky mixture. Shape the mixture into bite sized balls and store in a Tupperware in your fridge/freezer ready to enjoy when that sweet tooth hits.

Mood boosting milkshake:

1 cup plant based milk

1 tablespoon Creative Nature raw cacao powder

1 teaspoon Creative Nature maca powder

Ice cubes (optional)

Directions: place all ingredients in a blender and drink immediately!
