It’s Nutrition and Hydration Week!

Posted on: Mar 11, 2019

Nutrition and Hydration Week (11th-17th of March) is an annual event which aims to highlight and promote healthy living and advancements in nutrition and hydration locally and worldwide!

At Creative Nature, we care for all customers and their health, by producing products which are safe for all consumers to eat, no matter their dietary intolerances or allergies. We have a selection of “better for you” snacks, nutritious superfoods and superfood ingredients as well as a range of baking mixes that are made specifically to help those that cannot have the standard baking mixes in most shops due to unfriendly ingredients. We really try and cover as many customers and their needs as possible.

This week, we’re specifically focusing on the need for a healthy diet and proper hydration & sharing out top 4 tips of how you can ensure you are staying healthy no matter how busy you are! 🙂

  1. Focus on your 5-a-day!: It’s important to eat your 5 a day, to ensure you get all the vital vitamins and minerals in your daily dietary intake. You all must have probably heard about how important it is to eat 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, so make sure to focus on nutrient-dense vegetables and various berries and citrus fruits with your meals this week 🙂
  2. Hydrate while you caffeinate: Some of us absolutely swear by caffeine, but you have to be careful about the possibilities of dehydration! Caffeine tends to cause dehydration, so make sure to drink a glass of water in the morning, before you have your first cup of tea or coffee and if you enjoy multiple cups throughout the day, have a glass for each cup you consume to stay hydrated!
  3. Balance your protein intake: Protein is the power word of the century with so many people focusing on protein supplements and worrying about their daily protein intake! Don’t over-do it though: the average person should aim to consume around 0.8-1g of protein for each kg of body weight a day. If you work out though- focus on having around 20g of protein within the hour after working out, to replenish and restore your muscles!
  4. Hydration is key: We already stressed the importance of hydration in conjunction with caffeine, however, even if you aren’t a caffeine fan- to make sure you’re hydrated and full of energy, always carry a bottle of water with you. This will remind you to drink enough water throughout the day, no matter how busy you are. Aim to take a break from your desk every couple of hours at work to re-fill your bottle as it will also ensure you get plenty of water in 🙂
