Remembrance Day Brownies

In memory of World War 1 we made these brownies topped with poppies to represent Flanders Field. Poppies were the flowers that grew here.

Today marks the day when World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918. Poppies are the symbol of the First World War because they were a common sight during the war, especially on the Western Front.
